Composition

Wonder White white tea, Okayti Tea Estate, Mirik valley, Darjeeling, India. Buds and first leaf from the spring harvest, no additions of any kind.

Tasting Notes

Almost colorless liquor, barely creamy. Intense floral aroma on the nose. Light, silky cup, floral sweetness, clean finish with a lingering note. Very delicate body, best enjoyed plain.

A Barely Processed Tea

The silver buds and first leaf are picked at the very start of the season, then simply withered in the open air, with no rolling or oxidation. It is the lightest processing in the entire range, which explains the cup's finesse and delicate aromatics.

Okayti Tea Estate

Planted in the 1870s by the British in the Mirik valley, between 1,200 and 1,900 meters of altitude, Okayti owes its name to the quality of its cup: the only okay tea, the only tea judged truly good. Its chinary bushes, direct descendants of the Chinese plants introduced in the 19th century, give the garden its signature finesse, here expressed as white tea.
